International Composite's Summit

Automotive Industry

Mirka UK will be highlighting abrasive performance and versatility at the International Composites Summit. Taking place 4th - 5th September at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, our experts will be available to discuss your surface finishing needs.

The Iridium SR abrasive can be used for the finest finishing stages of vehicle manufacturing. The tridimensional technology silicon carbide grains also ensure the abrasive provides a consistent finish and has a long lifespan. In addition, it performs consistently on clearcoat, topcoat and lacquers as well as composite processing.

To complement Iridium SR, Mirka’s Cordless  sanders and polishers will be on display.  The AROP-B 312NV (Angle Random Orbital Polisher-Battery), with its 3-inch/77mm pad and 12mm orbit, non-vacuum tool, is aimed at the automotive OEM (AOEM) market. The ARP-B 300NV (Angle Rotary Polisher-Battery), with its 3-inch/77mm pad and 0mm orbit, non-vacuum device, is suitable for the automotive refinishing, tier 1 and composites sectors.

The polishers operate at high torque which is critical for polishing effectively. They also have a locking and limiting variable speed trigger on the on/off switch managing the rpm range, which enables the user to control the speed during the polishing process and avoids the risk of burning the surface.

The small, lightweight cordless sanders have brushless motors and feature an ergonomic design. You can move easily from spot to spot and sand for longer without getting tired. Mirka AOS-B has a 3 mm orbit, whereas the Mirka AROS-B has a random 5 mm orbit for more efficient stock removal.

Supplementing the abrasives and cordless tools on display will be Mirka’s electric tools, spearheaded by the Mirka® DEROS II sander. This tool is the world’s lightest electric sanding machine in its class and its low profile ensures good control over the sanding process. Its ergonomic design ensures it is easy to use and effective for heavy sanding applications. In addition, when it is combined with Mirka’s net abrasives and a dust extraction unit, it provides a consistent scratch pattern and a dust-free work environment.

Taking place 4th - 5th September at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, our experts will be available to discuss your surface finishing needs.

We will have a range of Mirka products on display including the Mirka DEROS II and our cordless range of sanders and polishers.
