Mirka® Introduces New Oiling Pad
10 December 2024
Mirka has developed a new type of oiling pad for woodworking and surface finishing. The oiling pads are available in two versions: a circular 150 mm pad for machine use and a rectangular 115 × 140 mm pad for manual application.
A New Product for a Traditional Material
Many areas of woodworking have seen considerable development in the last century, with the introduction of, e.g., pocket hole jigs, new pressure treatments and power tools. However, the methods for oiling and corresponding surface treatment of wood have not been modernised as rapidly as many other aspects of the craft.
Wood oiling has traditionally been done with brushes or rags, making it a time-consuming task far too often resulting in uneven finishes. Thankfully, this is about to change with the introduction of Mirka’s new oiling pads.
Developed for Professionals and DIY Enthusiast Alike
Whether you’re a small-scale hobbyist, a furniture maker, a contractor or an industrial producer of wooden products, Mirka’s new oiling pads will facilitate your workflow and improve your surface finishes.
The nonwoven backing material and three-dimensional coating ensure an even distribution of the coating substance.
Key benefits
- Faster and better results compared to oiling using traditional brushes or rags
- Available for use with DEROS power tools or manual application
- More efficient use of your surface treatment, thanks to the low absorbency of the pads
