Why is my Mirka DEROS vibrating

If your Mirka DEROS has started to vibrate more than normal, there are a few self help options to try before contacting our authorised service centre.

First of all, we would recommend checking your backing pad for wear. A worn out backing bad affects the balance of the machine and may lead to excessive vibrations.

New backing pads come with a new pad saver attached to the pad.

When a pad saver, coarse grit or interface is used for sanding, this set-up may increase the level of vibration. Your Mirka tool has a feature that allowing to reduce this vibration. To reduce vibration that may occur when a pad saver or interface is used, please follow these steps:

1. Disconnect power cable.

2. Remove backing pad.

3. Add hex nuts and screws in accordance with the manual.

Answer: A wrench is supplied for changing the backing pad on a Mirka DEROS, Mirka PROS or Mirka ROS. You can find it located in the original packaging of the sander.
