In a world facing climate change, biodiversity loss and social inequalities, we believe our mission has never been more critical. Mirka’s commitment to sustainability and our long-term investments in more sustainable products and operating processes lay the foundation for our sustainability vision and targets.
”At Mirka we are experts in sustainability. We focus on three things, making the environment cleaner, having a positive impact on society, and using resources wisely.
We are known for our dust-free innovations and we are working towards a future where no waste is produced.”
- Stefan Sjöberg

Mirka’s sustainability targets align with and contribute to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
Goal nr. 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Goal nr. 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
Goal nr. 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
Goal nr. 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
Goal nr. 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
By integrating these global goals into our operations, we are actively supporting efforts to address critical challenges such as climate action, responsible consumption, and social equality in the world.
Mirka has signed the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and is hence committed to setting and achieving ambitious, science-based emissions reduction targets that align with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. This commitment goes hand-in-hand with our target to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 55%.
The Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) helps organizations set emission reduction targets that are aligned with the latest climate science. It provides a clear framework and validation process to ensure businesses take credible and measurable action toward a more sustainable future.
We believe transparency and accountability is crucial in building and maintaining trust. By openly communicating about our sustainability initiatives, progress and challenges we aim to create an environment that encourages discussion and collaboration.
Mirka’s practices are being assessed through the internationally recognized platforms EcoVadis, IntegrityNext and CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project). Company level assessments are shared through the platforms upon request.
Additionally, Mirka publishes a sustainability report on a yearly basis. The report is for corporate sustainability and the information in it is collected from all units that are under direct control of Mirka Ltd, unless otherwise specified. Mirka’s sustainability report is an EU CSRD referenced report.
