Member Associations
The Federation of European Producers of Abrasives (FEPA) is an organisation that represents the European abrasives industry. The Federation of European Producers of Abrasives (FEPA) supports its members by representing their interests, fostering collaboration, and providing guidance on technical, environmental, and economic matters within the abrasives industry.
FEPA serves as a guarantee of quality for customers. As a manufacturer of electric tools for sanding and polishing, Mirka is a member of EPTA, the European Power Tools Association. EPTA represents the interests of the European power tool industry by promoting safety, sustainability, and innovation, providing technical and regulatory guidance, and facilitating cooperation among its members to address common industry challenges.
SEAM (Sustainable European Abrasive Manufacturers) is a sustainability program launched by FEPA to promote environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable practices in the abrasives industry. The SEAM program establishes a European sustainability standard for the abrasives industry, helping it achieve a balance between environmental efficiency, production performance, and worker safety, driving stronger sustainable development across Europe. Mirka had a central role in the founding of the SEAM program, which was launched in 2020.
SHAPE Ecosystem
The Mirka SHAPE Ecosystem is an initiative led by Mirka in collaboration with Business Finland to drive sustainable transformation in the manufacturing industry. It focuses on extending product life cycles through circular economy practices, sustainable materials, remanufacturing, and intelligent value chains.
Through SHAPE we can pilot new business concepts for repair, refurbishment and remanufacturing and optimize data driven sustainable processes in co-operation with an ecosystem covering a wide range of companies and institutions. The aim is to shape the green transition by developing sustainable solutions with a focus on decreasing the carbon footprint of the manufacturing industry.
